⌛ New Member... would love to visit. Where to begin?

Hello everyone. My mother is from Dumaguete city. My father is from New York. They met and were married when he was in the PI in the Army during the late 1940's. I was born in California after they had moved. I would like to visit the area my mother grew up in. I believe I have relatives there, but have not been in touch with any in many years. Her maiden name is Caluscusan. How can I begin to plan this visit to the PI that I have dreamed of all these years? Where to stay? How to travel? I am looking at this not as a "vacation", but some time to get to know my mother's homeland. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

There are so many thread on this forum dealing with the questions you have. It will take you some reading time but after that you will know a lot more (also the nonsences ) about your root City.
Take your time. When not found it, people will always help you further as you will be convinced after reading the many postings.
