⌛ New SM mall info from those who know

What? That it's actually going to be built or that it'll be a mini mall?:D

 

If it were going to be built why doesn't the Mayor's office or the planning office have no record of plan approval for permits. It was said by City Hall this rumor has been kept alive for 3 yrs. now. Next year it might come true.

I think it's not speculation. In fact they have a news item: Dumaguete mayor, business sector optimistic of economic boom after signing of power supply deal : balita.ph

 

That is great that SM has shown interest in Dumaguete. Lets hope it really comes true. Christmas is coming up quick

 

well, that statement of that link is related to the christmas - wishes of our Mayor LAST YEAR !!!. that has been around in different forms on several websites including here last december.

 

thought Du's comment interesting and on the mark...the issue of the cost of electricity is secondary to its reliability. A reliable uninterpreted power supply is critical to economic growth.

 

One day DGT may have its own SM. But for now, I see no official disclosure from the listed companies of SM about plans for DGT. If you go to the website of the Philippine Stock Exchange and open the 2010 Annual Report of SM Prime Holdings, you'll see a list of SM malls and 13 future sites (owned or leased) for development. DGT is not yet on the list. I've searched the other two SM companies as well and there is also no mention of DGT.

If they already owned or leased a property for a mall in DGT, at the very least, that would already be disclosed.

 

I wish the owners of Lee Plaza would officially merge with the Giasano Department Stores instead of just sourcing some items from them. From what I understand there is a relation through marriage. Give me a Metro Market and department store. I am not asking for a clone of the branch at Market! Market! , but a smaller version would be good. Bring Earl's Deli with them and provide some good cold cuts and cheeses. That would be a step in the right direction!

 

There is a big indication that SM will put up a supermarket in the IT Park being constructed near St Paul's in front of the ukay ukay in Villa Amada, and it was announced by the City Administrator...
