How are you all doing? Read through some of the posts and the people here seem pretty friendly and helpful. A little about me:

My names Wrye (like the bread, only spelled different ). I work in Afghanistan as a contractor most of the year. Originally from the mid-west US but got tired of corn fields, so joined the service and headed off to better things and then was introduced to the Philippines.

Been visiting the Philippines for about 5 years now and have been to a lot of different locations. Last year I got an apartment in Olongapo but didn't care for the area too much. Moved the wife (who I went to high school with in the US) and kid to Dumaguete this month. I will be coming home (if you want to call 2 months out of the year home) next month.

I've heard a lot of good things about Dumaguete, the beaches, the dive sites and the friendly people. Really looking forward to getting down there.

Hey Wrye.. welcome to Dumaguete. As you said, you've been working in Afghanistan as a contractor. What company dude? I was also in Afghanistan way back 2005-2007. I was connected with WWNS and EDOCORP before.

Wrye83, coming home mostly means coming back to the place you really felt good/ comfortable.
Even when the house is in another place, if you feel better at another place than your home town people say "i'm coming home'.
Come home and get lucky here.

You mean to tell me you were in Afghanistan and you opted to leave? Why would you ever wanna leave such a beautiful country? I'm checking Afghan immigration laws as we speak. They are very foreigner business friendly. LoL

Never heard of those two companies you mentioned. What is it they specialize in? They still in business? I have another year or two, possibly 3, out here before I'm finished.

No crew systems, just IT support and infrastucture work. They have opened a new center in Australia, I would'nt mind ending up there either. Lockhead is probably a better company to be with depending on where you want to go.
