    Ok, I see what you are saying. I didn't say you could get a direct flight to Duma with no stops. I was just thinking that perhaps going as far as Manila and then getting another ticket to Dumaguete might be a better idea. For me, I can save $50 doing that, but it is probably not worth the effort.

    I also have an interest in this thread (and I have been doing a lot of looking around) because I will be moving to Dumaguete in a couple of months as well. I am not an experienced traveler to the Philippines, but my info might at least be up to date because I have been doing some searching.

    By the way, thanks for mentioning Air Asia but their website only has a flight going to Clark, and that is from KL. Flying to KL is actually cheaper for me but by the time I get to either Clark -> Cebu -> Duma or Clark -> Manila -> Duma then the expense is about the same as the already mentioned prices.

    I did find a pretty cheap way to go though.

    LAX to Taipei -> $455 (Malaysia Airlines super saver option)
    Taipei -> Cebu -> $133 (Cebu Pacific)
    Cebu -> Duma -> lots of options

    That sounds like a real good deal.... Was 2 years ago a few days in Taipei, a interesting city for a few days stop over. At that time my ticket got cheaper as I extended the stay for 2 days (same was w/ stopover HK) but don't know if this offers are still on...
