This story was originally posted in the forum below. I have two comments about it:
1) I frankly dont really care, what a sex turist thinks about Dumaguete. It is totally fine with me, if they go somewhere else. We dont need Dumaguete to become the next Angeles City og Patong.
2) As is often the case with these type of people, it seems like he just like to tell a good story. So probably it should be taken with a grain of salt. Part of it might be true, but there are probably also twists and exaggerations added in just to make his story more interesting to make people listen to him. Like the story about the waiting time at the taxi stand in NAIA terminal 3. I have been their numerous times and have never waited more than 10-15 minutes at most.

Yea there are free shuttles buses as well as 20 peso buses to get your from terminal to terminal depending upon which terminal. I've only taken the free bus when flying Philippine Air so not sure if it is the same for others. In my experience, the taxis at the line are metered and you pay that amount; if you arrive at an odd hour you will see the "private" guys going with $20+ for a ride that would cost no more than $5 in a metered taxi.
I've made a few travel mistakes over the years.

The guy's comments about getting a taxi in Manila was surprising; never had to spend more than 10 minutes in line. I know it is rated as one of the worst but apparently they did not rate the airport in Kabul.
One thing I have seen in my almost 7 straight months here is that we get into a routine, much different than a tourist perspective of a place. Lately we are only going to Dumaguete a couple times a month, it is a nice break to be able to catch a movie and have the different restaurant choices. Everything is what you make of it, Tanjay is a small place with limited options to hang out but I enjoy the simple life so it works well for us.

I don't disagree with his review (I only skimmed over it) though he could have been more constructive in his criticism. Tourists who have similar expectations of their vacations would be well served by this review.

It is probably much too cold there for them also, and they have to work harder and FASTER to keep warm ?

Sorry for late reply
The answer is work !......It's only when they come to live here in UK, that they realise how hard you have to work to earn a living and having to pay taxes too!
Most Filipinos here work for the National health service (which pays quite good money for skilled nurses or Doctors).but complain about the workload.
But if they work in the United Arab states they earn more and I think I'm right to say they dont pay taxes like UK or USA.-

Jack, I grew up in those same times in the US. There was a restaurant chain named "Black Sambo's" that was created long before all the racial sensitivity issues came about that specialize in pancakes that has been in business for many years. It had some difficulties with it's name.
Interestingly today in the US "black" seems to be the preferred word for those "of color". I know in my life time there has been many names (which I will not list here) for "people of color" none of which I thought were offensive particularly offensive, but you know my mind is weird, as I am the guy who says kill the terrorists and let him hang from a flag pole, even if I have to die. Without negative connotations I find few words offensive.
I do think that any grouping of people into one race, or nationalistic group as a group can be offensive to individuals depending on the attitude of the "grouper". (not to be confused with member named Grouper)
The recent "IS terrorist" in Australia had reportedly been charged with committing an estimated 40 sexual assaults while being a so-called “spiritual healer.” Monis was also on bail and facing charges of being an accessory to the murder of his ex-wife. He was almost immediately identified a member of as IS Group.... but in relativity he was just a really BAD INDIVIDUAL man committing sexual crimes that had nothing to do with racism or nationalism., who got enough political sensitivity 'gold coins" in his pockets by identifying with a minority to be able to walk around until he did more noticeable damage to society because he attached himself to a race and national group that claimed discrimination and politicians were so hungry for votes they gave him a "key out of jail free card".
That is discrimination and racism and nationalism and stupidity all wrapped into one event.
(Please note I am not defending IS, I just noting that the political systems always seems to give groups like IS that can claim to have discrimination against them much more power than they deserve, most likely for the benefit of a few politicians. Sooner or later those groups bite the hand that empowered them.)-

It's not my quote: " . . . plenty of white men and even blacks in that town." [What? you mean there's blacks too? Who let THOSE people into the country?]
Just a little sarcasm here// the original author's comments seemed a little bigoted to me. Take care everyone!-

Jack, you may be right that there is more and more color prejudiced here. There was no reason to write the original article with an emphasis on the presence of black man.. I could have been wrong but I think that is what the poster was trying to say in his own sarcastic method. . I was hoping that no one was racist here because although I am not black I am part of a minority here as a foreigner. Remember as foreigners we are at the bottom of the totem pole (I hope that is not a racist statement), by the racist or nationalistic people here. As part of a minority here we will be one of the first to be hurt by racism and nationalism, so we should try to limit it. Calling attention to other racism statements is part of the effort to eliminate racism in my opinion.
At the same time I hope so do not get so politically correct (pacifistic) here we have to go around changing the names of sport teams like the "Red Skins" to something like the "Rainbow Skins" or cancel the presense of Santa Claus as a School assembly because one parent objected (both of these issues are going on in the US).
(maybe Justin can add a smiling face indicating sarcasm then we do not have to read the articles so closely) Somewhere there is a medium point here... maybe another San Miguel would help us find it.
