this thread is intended for those who are not from Dumaguete, but who fell in love with this beautiful place.. share to us from what town, city, country you are based..

I am not from Dumaguete myself but originally from a town up north of negros ( wont tell ) .But stayed longer in Duma when studying ,so it's like home to me .Hopefully to move to Dgte in the future ,still long way though,but nice to have something like it to look foward to.

What i like about Dumaguete is being a smaller city ,easy to get around but also you can be nr the mountain and the sea.Just 15-20 minutes you can be up in the mountains which has cool fresh air overlooking the city ,but then if you like the beach ,though dumaguete has no nice looking beaches but you can drive away south about 15 to 20 minutes there are nice beaches .The whole of Negros Island is nice,to include Negros Occidental on the othe side, beautiful long stretch of empty sugary white sandy beaches ,still unspoilt .

 

We are from

I was born in Michigan. USA.
Maria was born in Dumaguete.
We lived in Alaska now.
We sold our house in preparation to make the move to Dumaguete. I have seen a lot of this world and can't think of a better place in this world that I would like to spent the last of my days. And in the Philippines I can actually afford to retire.
