    Tourism is one of the tools seen for the relief of the gripping poverty maj people suffered .Though it is seen to come at a price for the environment if uncontrolled , but poverty alone when left to thrive will cause destruction of the entire environment and that already comes with evidence . Easy for many to say about preservation of the environment and against tourism they themselves living a good life enjoying the pristine sceneries and frsh air ,not worrying what to put on the table the nxt meal.But for those people who are left living on desperate conditions , preservation of the environment isn't the factor , it's survival ,they'll take whatver ever in their path to survive. Human survival can be selfish though ,but that's what it is.Take it or leave it.

    agreed but what I'm sayi ng is that tourism as promoted by the govnt with bifg airports etc and big commercia resorts ie mass tourism never ever helps the poor anyway and in fact majkes the situation much worse, it perpetuates
    it. Prices go up way past what locals can afford, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer
    small scale tourism ie Apo, dauin etc helps the money reach more grass route level and prices do not go sky high
