Well, actually...no...the better ones I've seen were built by German owners oddly enough (ok..their Filipina wife had her name on the title)...on Bohol. One was flogged on Panglao about two years ago, internationally, and I understand it got top dollar. I have visited a couple nice businessmen's homes in Bacolod that were standouts though. But not all successful businessmen in Bacolod live in palaces...nor do they not have compassion for their countrymen. That much I definitely know....
OH it's the Spanish now, over 400 years ago or so and blame the Spanish. Shame on you, and what the fxxx has food got to do with it
Example of an Ugly House I was wondering if any of you have seen the house built by Marky in the > Dumaguete City - Real Estate--are you kiddn me? Thread. This is a perfect example of the newer UGLY Houses I have been talking about. I would appreciate if anyone could tell me what if anything they like about the house. I have also taken the liberty of uploading some other example of What I consider UGLY Houses. Vis vedlegget 1246 Vis vedlegget 1247
About opinion It is all about opinion. It is my opinion your house is ugly as are all the others I have posted previously. I do find your kitchen is bearable but otherwise find me a toilet to puke in.
I'll say two postive things. Storm resistant and lots of color. Now for the negative. What does this have to do with foreign ownership of land?
I agree Tim However the thread seems to have moved to house design. Perhaps Tim, we should take it over to your other thread about architecture. BTW, you have any pics of your house in progress
Personally, my solution is to put the land in my wife's name. Perhaps I'm the exception to the rule but I implicitly trust my wife and her siblings. We have not purchased any land yet but we are considering a concrete version of this home.
Tim, you got my vote Nice with allthe glass. Thatched roof would look nice in lieu of tiles. Would give it a more tropical look while being modern with all the windows and glass doors. As for ownership. This is actually a very touchy subject. I have met at least 3 expats who have been burned by their loving wives during a seperation and subsequent divorce. They lost everything and are in courtws to try and get some back. That is always a possibility. Many have gone the corporate route and have put the majority ownership in a lawyers name or someone they trust without love being an emotional element or part
