    Grumpy ??
I previously owned traditional old English pubs in UK. Whilst I had my last pub, a very successful and busy one, all the other publicans were in competition with each other, all having Happy Hour at the same time. It was also attracting a lot of bad comments in the Press. So I went the other way.

From 6 pm to 7 pm on a Monday, I had Grumpy Hour. For one hour, I increased the price of all drinks by 10p, and anyone whose mobile phone rang was fined 50p !! You could moan about anyone and anything except the landlord and his all-female staff  You couldn't insult anyone who was present, but anyone who wasn't there was fair game to have their character assassinated. The boss, the ex-wife, the taxman, the council, they all came in to the firing line. Any one who had had a crap day could let off steam, and within 5 minutes of moaning everyone was falling about with laughter. Successful ?? Yep. I had safety clearance for 200, and the pub was packed wall to wall with customers. All the extra money from the increased prices and fines went in to the charity bottle and were sent to the local cancer Hospice.
Grumpy ole men? I've heard some of the best one-liners from them.
