The day we have been all waiting for is here; we have a mall. I had no trouble driving into the parking lot or leaving. There were no lines to enter when I went there around 1300 hours, and it felt nice and cozy as it does in new places. There were still many people looking, walking, shopping and having a great time. The only long line I encountered was in Robinson’s Grocery. It was so nice to see a clean grocery with fresh products in abundance. This has been a very positive experience for Dumaguete and ready or not, Dumaguete is about to grow like it has never grown before. Here are some pictures from day one, and I hope you will enjoy them.:D

I like to thank all those responsible for bringing Robinson's Place here, and for putting on a successful first day. I am looking forward of spending many days in the mall shopping, walking, chatting with people, and enjoying the day. As you can see there are a lot more stores to be open, some as early as next month, so be on the look out for a growing Robinson's Place and a changing Dumagute.

kewl: I think maybe you are recalling one of the early plans for the site which included a hotel and 3rd Floor with BPO office space...the finished project was substantially scaled back likely due to the economy.

My two cents: It's about what I expected (not that I am complaining!)....the only pleasant surprise was seeing that a branch of The Gustavian Restaurant is slated to open. To those unfamiliar, The Gustavian is an upscale European restaurant with two locations (that I know of) in Cebu City (entrance to Ma. Luisa and The Terraces at Ayala). They have an excellent reputation, although Dumagueteños may be in for a little 'sticker shock' when the bill arrives!

Now if one of those empty spaces could just be filled by a good Thai restaurant...
