I've seen some collage text books here that would be equal to a 9th grade education in the States.
I talk to a lot of people wanting to retire here because they speak "English" and yes some do. BUT they don't always have any comprehension of what they're saying.

Another thing that bugs me is when you're talking to a person one on one and ask a question they reply with "me"? yes you, you're the only other person here.

My best suggestion would be getting good text books and doing home schooling.
Maybe even internet courses. At least you'd know what was going into their brains.

    absolutely agree w/ the online-courses.

Dude and Guru were posing some links to accredited online-courses before in a similar thread.

    WTF....is a Fluvial Parades ???

Well, I found out that it is another useless Pinoy english invention (as no other country calls a simple boat parade like that).

But that is what the teacher wanna know of my little one in English. Well I wrote the answer in the notebook and I expect the teacher wanna talk to me soon  looking forward to that :D

C'mon Roody  I can't believe you don't use this word all the time. Here is a definition from wikipedia...lol......

Fluvial is used in geography and Earth science to refer to the processes associated with rivers and streams and the deposits and landforms created by them. When the stream or rivers are associated with glaciers, ice sheets, or ice caps, the term glaciofluvial or fluvioglacial is used.[1][2]

    :D

For the record I don't think I had ever heard the term before either. I am amazed by the choice of words that my Filipino friends use sometimes. Perhaps it is because of the vocabulary they learn in school.

'Course I can say the same about the British and Australians I have met. Come to think of it the Southern Americans can be hard to understand as well at the Easterners and those Northerners. Sometimes I wounder how I can understand anyone........:D:cool:
