Put a sticky thread with directions on how to discontinue the double underlined commercial links that makes it impossible to view anybody's profile "about me". Every time I clicked "about me" in anybody's profile including my own all I get is a link to someone's bull sh*t website. I find it extremely annoying and I have turned it off in the past but it seems to keep getting turned back on without any help from me. Please make it possible to turn this thing off and have it stay off. Or at least put a sticky note where it can easily be found with directions on how to discontinue it. I know this was a discussion before and the directions were given, but I don't seem to know how to get back to that thread. It would be very nice if there was a button in the toolbar that would turn this feature off. Or may be a way to turn it off permanently in one's own profile settings.
    See you all very soon.

    My two centavos

If you have Firefox there is an add on called Ad Block Plus. It works beautifully!

Jim, I initially raised this issue on 22nd April this year. I found that the "opt-out" did not work and had to juggle around with the system. I switched browsers and found that it stopped for a while and then came back and nothing I did would get rid of the annoying feature. So I wrote to them at support@infolinks.com asking them why. I got back the following reply :-

    Dear Roger

Thank you for your email and for bringing this issue to our attention. I sincerely apologize for the delay in getting back to you.

With regards to the opt-out option, please let me know the URL(s) of the website(s) in which you found that the opt-out option did not work.

Please note that many times the reason for this feature not working is simply that the owner of the website did not add the correct link to this site.

In any case, if you would provide me with the URL of the website in which the link was not working, then I will be happy to assist the owner to insert the correct link and to make sure that the link works.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience.

    Best regards,

    Hanna, C.
    Account executive.

So I emailed them straight back with the Forums details and since then nothing has happened.

    What next ???

    Roger

well, I run 4 different browser and the opt-out is working on each until I clear cookies.

also the plugins for several browser available do a good job.

It lays pretty close to assume that it has something to do with the individual settings of members, neither with infolinks nor DI.
