A mall will be great in Dumaguete. It will keep all the peso millionaires in one spot, leaving the rest of Dumaguete to the locals and savy expats. Less traffic downtown, no rude expats hangin out at McDonalds and Dunkin donuts, nice...

Benefits of a new mall in Dumaguete

Less trafic downtown would certainly be a great benefit to everybody. I would think though, that most "savy expats" would also frequent the coming Robinson, since the existing alternative in the form of Super Lee Place is really not that good, frankly.

If it is going to be anywhere near as good as the Robinson in Cebu, I really can not imagine, that me or my fiancee is going to do much shopping in Super Lee Place after the new Robinson is open.

 

I've been to Robinsons in Cebu two or three times. I don't see any style on that department store which is close to the street. There are no nice landscaping (correct me if I'm wrong, because it's been seven years since my last visit there.). It's just a huge store. While the Robinsons Dumaguete (from the pic) has style and very elegant looking with nice landscaping. It's gonna be a great place to shop.

with robinsons opening up, dumaguete might be officially called the city of one-way traffic or the city of no entry, bwahahaha!

its already bad in this part of town as it is

city woill get bigger, domino effect will set up with more businesses
before you know it dumaguete is a large polluted, commercila city.
exactlky the sort of place we all moved here to escape.
It will become just another non descript philipino city.

if you want malls then p*ss off to cebu or manila
