⌛ Robinsons Mall in Dumaguete

^^ so the soil filling is for what? the area is small..

 

The ground in that area is not stable. It used to be a swamp from what I've heard. They're filling to prevent it from sinking thus strengthening the foundation. I think all establishments that will be up there would need to have soil filling. The buildings of TeleTech (both 1 & 2) required backfilling of both soil and gravel.

 

^^ oh yeah.. ur right. the place used to be swampy. even don bosco main building annex sank for about 3-5 inches after a mild earthquake back then when i was still studying there.. my teacher told us the place is unstable as it was a swamp before.. but still i wonder why the sand fillimg is just occupying a small area of the whole 6 hectares..

 

We will be driving by the Robinsons place in an hour or so, I will see if I can remember to bring the camera this time to get a picture of Robinsons construction site.

 

There are now substantial activities going on at the Robinsons construction site. d*mn, it's like they're preparing for war if those cranes and flatbed trucks are tanks and artillery vehicles...There are just too many of them there, and the filling of soil is continuing.

 

^^ yeah, saw that, too. i just passed by the site. i was able to see actual drilling for the mall's foundations.

btw, wats the airplane and helicopter funfly all about? i saw two banners about it. i think i will be on november 26 ryt beside teletech's building.

 

I of course forgot to bring the camera but it seems the sand slab is a lot bigger now

 

I think they're going to fly RC planes/helicopters. Too bad, I'll be in Manila for this one. I love RC planes.

I feel guilty about not taking pictures of Robinsons when it's just in front of where I work. I'll TRY to take a picture before I go home. :o
