Having Robinsons will definitely be a big big plus for Dumaguete.
I have visited Dumaguete several times, and one drawback was the lack of adequate shopping/hangouts (I am not into the boulevard expat bar scene).
The resorts are nice, but do not offer other amusements other than the nice beach bars (for those who live in Dumaguete).

This Robinsons is surely going to positively influence many like me considering to live in Dumaguete.

And I woudn't mind Robinsons right in my backyard. In fact, I wish they would build a condo complex as a part of the development (like Robinsons condo complex in Manila). I would prefer to live there than to live in a house worrying about barking dogs or burglars. And taking frequent trips to nearby dive sites and beaches for nature.

Perfect combination of comfort living with nature.

"Perfect combination of comfort living with nature"?
I have to say I think I would prefer to see a development in Dumaguete City than oil platforms in the straits offshore.

I was told that SM malls already have their land in Dumaguete and will start building there soon. As I recall, we were driving around Dumaguete and he pointed out a elementary school as the site for the future SM mall. Would be nice if they put in a skating rink like the Mega Mall and the Mall of Asia.

Who knows. The oil people may claim that the oil platform will offer perfect dive site, like the "pier" site in Dunaguete.
