I went through their website: Cignal Digital TV, the first-ever nationwide HD satellite provider. A new TV standard brightens up every television in households across the country.

They then sent me to a local installer...

I have found them to be pretty responsive at this email too: CignalCare@mediascape.com.ph

I still had to go through a lot of the usual "company policy" bullshit until I finally became the ugly foreigner and got hold of a manager there - her name is Tish and she took good care of me followed up and finally got the local installer on the job and got my account set up.

The channel selection is good and with 9 HD channels there is plenty to watch if you have a HD TV

Dane, for planning purposes, may I ask which direction the antenna faces so I know which wall to plan for the installation? Thanks

24 hours Filipino channel coming up! :D

The need for satellite T.V. is directly proportional to the amount of physical obstructions between the satellite dish and the satellite! :D

Hopefully there are no trees, buildings, mountains etc. in the way! :D

Dane, could you please let us know the cost of installation and equipment as well as the monthly fee for Cignal?
    Thanks, Ron

PatO - all satellites are in geo-syncro orbit over the Equator. In our case we are 6/8 degrees north of that (?). So basically it will be looking south at a high angle.
As an installer told me years ago "if you have to choose between looking through a brick wall or a tree, choose the wall. Microwaves don't like trees" (moisture content).

OH god all day so far my dream satellite has been reading "lost signal" I went into the installation menu and checked the signal search and its reading between 87% and 99% and my dish network in the USA worked fine at 85% signal strength..So if I'm at 99% peak signal then why am I getting lost signal icon and no pictures? I s any one else having this or is this bad juju started from this thread yesterday?? Did the trees grow over night?the mountain side is clouded like a brick wall but the ocean side is my dish focus:confused:

Update on satellite options for this area. Dream is less expensive but does not have high definition (HD) channels, if that is a requirement. Cignal is more money but has HD and offers more channels.
Thanks to the Dane for putting me on to Cignal. They came out today and did a survey and talked to my builder about the best solution as to where to place the dishes and how to tie them into my raceways. One setback is Cignal does not have the hardware in inventory, and no order in site, to tie in a 2nd box for a 2nd tv. Their solution is to install a 2nd dish, you pay more for the installation but the monthly is the same as if they had the hardware, p230 for the 2nd box. Their plan is a 24 month lease, good and bad in that you don't own the dishes but they replace any necessary parts or repairs. In my solution, we elected to put a 4 meter pipe to install the dishes on, rather than installing onto the house or concrete wall.
You can find both Dream's and Cignal's subscription packages and prices on their web sites.

Maybe I over payed but either way i did pay to have my dish repositioned to more north from the prior east direction, that became necessary yesterday when my service was under a lost signal blackout,so POS crew came out in 12 hrs notice and did the job-explaining that the old satellite in space was out of contract allowance so they cut out yesterday but dream had already converted new service on a KOREA sattelite system that must be a totally different space craft in a different orbit. Its all good now there was no bad juju form this thread after all..:o

Just make sure it is a very stout pipe, with a deep footing and absolutely NO wobble.
