That used to be called the Music Box in the past . That was one of our popular hangout as students esp on Friday nights as it newly blossomed in the boulevard . Why did it change its name to WHY NOT ? Was it flagging down with its popularity and by changing it’s name will send some illusion of an ultimate rejuvenation to disguise like a new kid on the block ?:p

I still call it Music Box myself. IMO, Music Box sounds better than Why Not. Anyway, about the no sandal rule, luckily for me, sometimes (I don't usually wear sandals....I'm a shoe person) they let me off the hook because I usually hang out there to play pool and the staff kind of knows me already. Weird rule though. Especially since a lot of foreigners frequent the place and most foreigners here usually like it laid back (dressing up) since most of them are on a tropical vacation anyway.

Same here ,I prefer to call it Music Box ,and still call it MB now ,just the name we get used to .Just wondering why Marcus changed the name from MB to Why Not,lols. Was it sold out or now under diff ownership?

That's true, wearing shoes in Dumaguete is d*mn hot.I didn't realize how hot it was since i come to lived here in UK.When you're used to this climate here, then visiting back in Ph or in Dgte,it seems like a shock to your body when you feel the heat and high humidity.Takes few days to acclimatize with the weather ...but still hot and speaking of wearing shoes in the music box ?This had been long their SOP , kind of nonsense. One can wear good sandals ,this is particularly for men ,not the cheap flipflops ,and look good in it . But wearing shoes,to look better with feet feeling like stewed ...ending up with a stinky sweaty feet:eek:

In fairness to every member of this forum, can we at least "speak" a language that everybody can understand or at least give a translation on the same post. Salamat (thank you).

Hi cactusflower; sorry, it is just temporary. We're just having fun. While typing my visayan post I was laughing by myself. To me it's humour. Let the expat members who are married to Dumagueteneas figure out what we're talking. I think it's kind of fun. On the second thought, I think it's time for them to learn some few or more words of the dialect. Good for jimeve, he's under the tutorship of his wife. Right jim? :D
