    At least something has to be done to stay warm in that hotel.
    About all the rest,been that,done that.
    But during the coming years i rather prefer a icy cold beer in the pool bar, or maybe a screwdriver or a Gintonic on the rocks.And once in a while have some calm dives at APO or other places.

    The Storm In US & Canada

    Well there's lots more to come apparently but the Great Lakes and Eastern Seaboard of the US & Canada is getting hammered right now.

    :eek:

    I'd send a better pic if only i could get outside of my house and not have to take it through 2 panes of windows.

    -40 C

    ...I don't know about Norway, but, in Canada when it gets that cold, it doesn't snow. In fact once you get colder than -20, the amount of snow you get really drops off. The weather offices here in the States and Canada says this should be the worst on record when its done. Kansas already got buried apparently.

    Hi;
    In everything in life it's all depends on how you look at it. If life gives you a lemon, then make a lemonade! I was born in the Philippines,so I'm not a great fans of cold weather as my body designed for warm environment but I could stand the very hot summer in Canada.I have to find a way to enjoy the winter season beside shoveling the snow and Christmas.

    Gene...All my ancestors are survivors of the winter from northern europe, but I'm not built for winter either, none of us are !! There are some people who are better liars though and can even convince themselves that this is fun and healthy living. It brings two unintended points to the forefront of this discussion. Do you ever wonder why us northerners are so fat ? That's because our ancestors, the ones who were able to survive the winter without food and in freezing temperatures, were the ones who's genetics caused them to get fat during the summer and autumn so they had something to get them through a brutal winter. Also, next time I hear a Philippino whining about how much happier they'd be in an American or European country, I'm going to lock them in a freezer for a week somewhere in DGTE if i can find one. Philippinos have no idea how lucky they are. All the ones here in Canada are very homesick now.

    I love watching snow falling from the sky and I can just sit and watch in my patio door with a cup of tea..... but I hate winter especially when you go to work. Been here in the UK over a decade now but still can't bear the coldness, greyness and dumpness.:mad:

    Spot on Chuck, I'd rather be in the Philippines right now...:wink: :wink: :wink:

    Hey if you've got clothes, something to eat, relative security and freedom AND a tropical ocean at your doorstep, you are in paradise. It doesn't get any better....Well of course a honey on your knee and a capucino with a shot of Grand Marnier in it cruising in a yaht... never mind....

    Some people do like the cold. I took a walk after dinner last night just around my neighborhood and noticed some houses with windows wide open. Used to work with an Irishman who, even during winter would open his windows because it's "lovely and fresh" (naunsa!!!!). Would have been ok if only for a little while but this is for the whole working day!!! He was eventually moved to a spot where, if he open his window it wouldn't affect anybody else as much. He was hardcore.
