Congratulations !!!! Thanks for sharing another success story. I wish you and Miss Rudy every happiness forevermore.

 

I think a barong is the shirt that Rudy and I bought. A white shirt, long sleeves, with ruffles down the front. Is that right? Rudy picked it out. And a white t-shirt with buttons at the top to wear under it, black pants (jeans), black socks and black loafers from Texas.
Obviously, being a guy from Texas, I have no sense of fashion, so I let Rudy pick out what I would be wearing.
I explained to Rudy that in Texas, when we say we are "dressing up", that means a t-shirt without holes in it, and jeans that the knees aren't torn. And we usually rinse off our boots to get the big clumps of mud off of them.
So obviously, I let her do the fashion as she saw fit. The only thing I requested was a long sleeve shirt, which she agreed to, because I thought it would be more respectful. I do have 6 tattoos on each arm, and I am trying not to look like a biker (that I am).

Yes the Barong Tagalog is the traditional formal wear of the Philippines so it will be useful for all occaisions requiring dressup. I still have mine.
