⌛ Strawberry plantation in dumaguete?

Strawberry farming should have been initiated decades ago ,but sadly not until some koreans made the journey who brought forth this idea to the farmers of Valencia starting of with 1000sqmtr lot.But I wonder what the main Dept of Agriculture doing for many lost yrs , nothing remarkable .When the strawberry was already a thriving crop in Bagiou ,not one sitting on their bums in this Dgte Dept came up with some better idea/ new ventures to any possibilities of growing the crop in Valencia or even Canla-on .

Unfortunately ,can't get away with my typical moaning ,sorry people ,I am only venting out my frustrations experienced when we visited the Dept of agriculture in Dgte last July , in view to get some advice of trees etc ,d*mn there's nothing in there ,we were even refered to another dept CENRO or something ,what a waste of journey . When we visited the Dept of Agriculture in Bacong at 4:15 on a monday ,geeeeeez everyone's gone home. Isn't this a kind of chronic abuse by employees of this govt agency? Oh well ,it didn't happen only once ,people in the area knew about it ,that's the way it is for many yrs in this Dept. They are paid of to finish at 5 pm ,but off they go an hour or hours early . We only saw small kids from the neighborhood playing in the office grounds .In contrast the Dept of Agriculture in Valencia was quite good ,personnels were very helpful giving advice on planting ,cultivating Chicos, lanzones , mandarins ,pumelos,rambutans but again they didn't have much of the variety for sale.Their grounds were dotted of mostly Lanzones seedlings and Mahogany. I haven't queried about Strawberry ,though i heard about this a yr ago , as our attention that time were fucosed on to planting trees . Private nurseries had some tree varieties specifically the two DAYOT nurseries in Sibulan (opposite each other ) where we bought all our trees .But what I am still looking for are seedlings of Japanese acasia ( lovely tree when in bloom is wrapped up in profusion of pink flowers during april ,may to June ),Fire tree (a red flowering tree ) and ylang-ylang tree (real scented flowers in bloom) seedlings . Perhaps might venture down to Cebu,if i come nxt yr to look for these trees or any nice varieties.
