These cases have a way of going quiet...very quiet....Been a couple similar ones on Bohol that have gone silent as well....Is it lack of enthusiasm, competence, pesos?....Have to wonder if this is becoming a trend nation-wide. I remember Bohol being 'crime-free' not so long ago.....a get-away-from-it-all-paradise (much like Dumaguete is/was).....Move on and, less of a surprise, a few murders and unexplained deaths in Cebu last few years of expats living there....Keep it up and people will pull the plug and move on....The government needs to put a stop to it - or risk billions in expatriate, tourist, and potentially aged-care revenue...

This has been going on for ages, just make sure you are not vunurable for it, don't give people motivation/incentives to kill you, after all most murders are usually family related, the overall murder solving figures in Ph wont be great (not that that matters much once people get greedy). You are a foreigner abroad once trouble arrises pack your bags and move.

    Well dogs are like this..

At first they are afraid of you. But once the bite they become a little more brave each time they attack. until they have no more fear of a human. So I guess once crooks find out that killing a long nose brings less trouble than killing a Filipino we become easier targets. It is not like that our family members will start seeking revenge for our deaths. So they really don't have to look over there shoulders very much. PNP is worthless unless it is there hand out looking for some cash but that doesn't mean they well do anything about it..If you have a problem it is time to change location in the Philippines find another island start over. But I really don't find the risk any greater than living in the western world.
