    I don't know.
If/when you settle here PH for the longer term you will not find this strange at all, or that your In-Laws will be giving you wrong information and don't ever expect Filipinos to think about tomorrow, they will just wait till the next day to think about that?

It is more Fun in the Philippines provided you keep your expectations at a very low level.

I learned many years ago that to try to get anything done with a Philippine company or individual Filipino by email is a pointless waste of time.
I can't imagine why they don't like to put things in writing

Henry is VERY open, excellent restaurants, all open, including the new Popolo. One (or more) of the older restaurants is owned by the "....northern Teves, NOT the southern Teves..." different families...

The reason is that the whole country is driven by social media on mobile. Email is just not seen as as business tool here, as much as we strangers might think that strange. What IS odd is having an advertised email address and not using it, I suppose.

Yes, it is open, and no, it's not owned by a Teves, at least not since 2016.

1st stay was Rainbow Resort. Very close to Ferry Port. We were a walk in and it was dirt cheap 1750P per night. Very clean, felt very secure, food was excellent, A-C Strong and a couple pools , on the beach front but very mediocre. Some noise from road way at night but we still enjoyed it. Room was very clean and comfortable with working safe for valuables . https://www.google.com/search?q=rai...8#lrd=0x33ab15bf95555555:0x56ea21b41e4a9e34,1,,,,

Our 2nd stay was at CoCo Grove. This was very clean and luxurious. 5500P per night, awesome Cabin and or room (enjoyed both) 3 restaurants all serve same menu which was excellent food. More pricey than most places in Siquior. Multiple pools and one with side bar. Beach front was top notch! If one has the money to drop...... Coco Grove is the go2! https://www.google.com/travel/searc...d=0CAAQ5JsGahcKEwiItoqykemDAxUAAAAAHQAAAAAQCw

Rent a driver for 1500P per day and drive around entire Island to hit all the sites or rent a Scooter for 550P per day, and pay gas.

I just came back from 3 nights in Siquijor. Prior to getting there I experimented by emailing 3 Resorts and also messaging the 3 Resorts on FaceBook. None got back to me in response! You must call their number on some site that is in most cases not updated to hear "This number is not in service" Best to just get there and at the Reception desk, try to get the attention of the Employee sitting there on Cell Phone and ask them if they have a room. Allow 30 minutes for a verbal response! To be fair, there may be that occasion where the Resort is on top of customer service, social media posts, marketing and has an active phone number.
