And a "new" development for everyone to get a laugh about. I met a nice foreigner from Australia yesterday at a beach party. He is married to a cousin of my wife. He will not be fully retired for another 2 years, so he comes here every 3 months and stays for 20 days.
He told me that he bought a house, paid 1.3 mil for it and has spent about another 2 mil doing upgrades. So he has a little more than 3 million pesos in it.
I asked if his wife was going to live in it by herself for 2 years. He said no, that she was going to stay living with her parents, but her sister, husband and children were going to live in the new house "just until" he moves here full time in 2 years.
I bit my tongue and made NO reply, but I couldn't help thinking about Fallenviking and this thread.
We will have to wait 2 years to see how all of this plays out, but I think we can all guess the outcome.

    Yes to both of you.
This is a train wreck waiting to happen I'm afraid. But being polite and it being cousins, I can't/won't say a word.
And to think that you guys made fun of me for buying a 250 kilo pig for fiesta......

Of course JP. That was a fun thread for everyone, except Mr Pig.
Total spent on fiesta was about 10k pesos. Well worth the fun.
(nothing compaired to a 3mil peso house -above).

It was suggested to me a long time ago to, when you think you want to marry a girl, have a good look at her mama because that is what she will look like 20 yrs from now. Good thing my wife didn't want to have a look at my papa to see what I will look like 20 yrs from now, 6 feet under.

2.seek for atorney's non baised adviced
    3.move away
    4. DEAL with it...:p

well, the thing is that we filipina's we do love, see our relatives near by... specially when it comes to chatting... we don't care much about privacy... well that is not part of the traits (culture) that what we grew up with coz we grow up with a strong family ties, we share stuff, ALOT, from toothpaste down to cooking oil, t-shirt down to shoes... well, my point for this is that,,, talk to your wife what she wants and what's her idea about that sittuation maybe you agreed into something... something productive, something healthy for both parties...
    GOOD LUCK!
