I found a solution to the disappearing toilet seats. Hopefully this method gets adopted soon so our ladies does not have to squat. Pretty simple and probably not that expensive.

THAT is funny!! I wonder though, if toilet seats and toilet paper were available in all public facilities like here in the U.S., if it would really be a problem afterall? I think because it isn't always available makes them all that much more of an item to want to steal? I don't know, though, it isn't something I have ever thought about before, just took it for granted that when I walked into a restroom there would be a toilet seat, and usually (not always) toilet paper.

Welcome to the third world. But even france uses just a hole in the floor at some of the older buildings as do most middle east countries where you are just expected to wash your hands, no trees to kill there. What would you do then?

P&P, looking to the picture and the location of the attachments of the chains at the toilet seat I wonder if the ladies will not get a more serious problem after using it :D

I know, right? I wonder about that too. Maybe the chains can be used where you can wrap your legs around it for extra leverage when you're passing bricks.

I bet you it will not change anything. It's more the temptation of the "five finger discount" that drive people to do it. Now if a roll of toilet paper could cost only 5 centavos, then maybe the practice will stop.
