Here's a pretty vague update from the PNP today that "there was a police report about a plan to 'stage kidnappings' in southern Cebu but that the report was “in the process of being validated.” If someone actually gets kidnapped, they'll no doubt confirm the the report has been validated

I can assure you this. If you are expecting the PNP to protect you and your family you will get screwed. They will not put their lives in danger to protect a foreigner. I have witnessed this first hand and even made a formal complaint at the regional PNP office. They called the offending PNP officers in for a face to face conference with me and their superiors. Their reasoning was that there were too many people for them to handle so they could only watch as the drunken MOB tried to break down my security gate while throwing stones at me and my wife as we struggled to push back against our gate. They watch as me and my wife were assaulted by 10 people because we complained about a out of control Fireworks and Videoke party next to our house. That lame excuse was good enough for the PNP superiors.

Not sure of any of you swim at the public pool in Dumaguete,I think somewhere at back of daro. A friend of mine who has just arrived back from the uk who swims every day has been told the pool is out of use as the ph military is camped out there and has been for a while,he was told by one of the workers there that they are there due to a threat from asg. Is there something local government is not telling us?
