Yes Swany, the devastated area really looked like war zones. It didn't help the the wind was blowing up to 75 mph on Sunday and Monday. I have to disagree with the city being in chaos though. I think most of the evacuation process was very orderly. And most of the people heed the warning and left their homes. That was very important for the firefighters. They can't concentrate on fighting the raging wildfires if they have to save people that were trapped in their houses. As for me, I did evacuate and spent the night at a friend's house even though we were not in either mandatory or voluntary evacuation. Seeing the fire on the other side of the hill was enough for me. This was my first wildfire and it was very scary. I think that most of the pets and livestock were saved. There were at least 3 evacuation centers that accepted them and one of them was the DelMar racetrack. Thank God it is over indeed. And I have to say that God has been very good to me:smile:

Thank you, WCH. It was a little bit stressful for me going through this because as you already know, Jason wasn't here with me. He was actually a little bit upset that he's somewhere out there protecting his country and yet he couldn't protect me. But I told him not to fret. We have friends here that were more than willing to help me out in case of emergencies. I have to say that if not for the Navy planes that were flying by Monday afternoon, the fire by our area would have scattered and did more damage.
