    Thats the problem..

You can't get a toilet seat in the Philippines that does break after a few weeks..

Does that mean that I should include a new toilet seat as part of the items I plan to ship when I move?

I have no problem here. My marine tour issued me an entrenching tool (e-tool) which I kept and just go out back, dig a hole, and take care of business and cover it up, has worked for 40+ years. Try it, no complaints about toilet seats.
