I missed this Post, and I have to say.....this is the best post on the forum, also the comments made by others here was worth reading. NOW! we need to get people in Dgte to dispose of there household waste properly, and not under the house! Also do not litter up the beach areas. Above all I ask this, do not look down at the garbage guys, they are doing a good job collecting it, and they have an important job to do, more important than the Bank tellers filing their nails at the counter! Thats what I hate about the phils white collar workers who look at the blue collar workers and consider them a sub species, its those guys that do the REAL work. Whether its a plumber, carpenter, road sweeper, or anything else. Everyone is equal in a fair society.

The Dumaguete city government had been aware that the lack of sewage water fascilities and management system in the city as one of the major pitfalls to progress . The local government identified this significant need to develop the waste water sytem , pushing it as one of major aspects of development for the dumaguete that needed addressing soon. According to one Dgte public officer the city is now on its way towards implementing a citywide waste water management prgramme. Dumaguete is one of the few pilot cities under the LINAW project backed up by the USAID . LINAW stands for Local Initiatives for Affordable Water treatment .

“Under LINAW, the city government will build an offsite biological treatment facility consisting of a series of 8 ponds to treat septage from the city's septic tanks, from over 21,000 households, commercial establishments, schools, hospitals, the public market and the city hall as well as building a Decentralized Wastewater Treatment System (DEWATS) for the public market sewage problem. “

Fingers cross this kicks in to a good start for a new cleaner Dumaguete.

Apart form the very last line this is a copy and paste job from some journal or something, why don't you just WRITE your own comments rather than just quote an article?

In addition to water management is waste management. Piles of garbage get rained on, the water eventually makes it's way either into the ground water or the sea. Either way it's not good.
Composting is something I've not seen practiced a great deal during my visits to the Philippines. Places like the Bohol Bee Farm practice composting and Gawad Kalinga has been working with the local people to build composting toilets. There is hope!

The first paragraph is a shortened summary from the whole article I came across ,had tore it off . I wrote this with my own words from the info source .
The ' copy and paste' you made fuzz about was the second paragraph which obviously in close qoutations , so neither one can accuse me of any plagiarism in here.

I have already made my comments earlier than you came across this thread . But does this matter a whole lot to you MR PERFECT PROFESSOR PhilT ?

AT THE LEAST I WISH YOU COULD HAVE A LITTLE APPRECIATION OF THIS SHARED UPDATE INFO ABOUT DEVELOPMENT PLANS FOR THE SEWAGE PROBLEM IN DUMAGUETE ,AND NOT GIVING ME YOUR BULLOCKING COMMENTS AGAINST MY POST !

What a pity , just a whining mesirable geriatric :D

I think there is nothing wrong with PhilT's suggestion on this. I believe he meant for a 'proper citation' of the source which was lacking on the post.

Actually he was querying for my comments in a somehow rude approach if you look at it, more important than the info source (citation ) if you read it over again, josephen .It is nice to know you have agreed with him, thank you.You must be of same minds . If he'd ask nicely for the source I'll try to find the paper which i tore it from ,but HE DIDN'T .I don't need somekind of boosy discontented commanding feedback like that from him ,just because of how I wrote it.He hardly use the word 'please' ,dunno where he's from ,might be from hell hole somewhere in england

Most times it needs to be polite to get positive replies and guaranteed getting on well with most people here.

Any info related to this update I have no doubt must be out there if people here google it ,proof i am not making it up.
