⌛ Wave of foreigners moving to Dumaguete

According to SM, they are breaking ground for a med to large mall which they hope to have partially open by Xmas.
They are on a big building campaign and have started a similar project near here in Constipation (Consolacion).

 

I won't be able to go look before October at the earliest, but would like to hear more of a discription, maybe a few pics and a price+lot size.
Not trying to be picky, but will have to be when things get down to the wire.
A crap property with an old shack on it for cheap would be nice if there were room for a main house to be built and the shack could be used for storage (maybe Nida's brother too).

whoever told you that, sorry to be pretty direct but this is total crap regarding Dumaguete...

... don't we all just love all this WIKI sites and google maps etc, where everybody with a email-address just can put their crap and weird fantasies up ?

 

Actually, they have a list of new building projects listed in the North Wing of SM City in Cebu.
I guess it's advertising/bragging, don't know why it would be posted otherwise.
Not sure if they have started any work in your area, but the ground breaking in Consolacion was not long ago.

 

no construction in Dumaguete and none planned...

sounds to me like the "project" tagbilaran international airport, that was also once printed on a paper and a list...

that was and is the fantasy of some weird enthusiasts. SM made their homework and saw that at present there is just no spending money in Dumaguete and that ain't change for the near future.

exactly the reason why Robinsons put their very own go-hotel with 200+ rooms on hold... just no need here...

 

That really isn't a problem for me anyway.
I don't require much to live, but if I did, I could just fly to Manila and take a boat back (if I need to carry a large item).
I do hear that the Robinson's there is pretty nice, is this true?
The one in Cebu is a run down mess with lots of crime and homeless people living on the sidewalk right outside the main doors.

 

Nah.....I don't want any more of those foreign buggers buying up all the cheap land. lol
In my neighborhood up above Valencia, if a reasonably nice lot comes up for sale, some expat snaps it up in less than a week. It's getting a bit crazy, but it sure helps the value of our land. We just bought another little piece, ourselves. It was on the market one day and we grabbed it.
