    My 2 centavos

    1. What do you miss most about the US?

People driving, who do not know how to drive. The police state with way too many cops enforcing and crooked politician making, bull sh*t laws.

    2. What do you enjoy the most about being an expat in Dumaguete?

It's far away from Michigan, I have to stand on a chair to get farther away.

    3. What's the most annoying aspect about living here?

All the drunk foreigners. They give the good foreigners a bad rap.

    4. Would you do it all over again, given the chance?

In a New York minute. Except I would have done it a lot earlier in my life.

    5. What brought you here in the first place?

The unconditional love of a Dumaguete Filipina spouse.

    6. Is there such a thing as a "Dumaguete moment?" As in, only in Duma could this happen.

YES; 8000 vehicles going through a single intersection in one hour with no traffic control whatsoever. Simply amazing.

7.Would you choose to live back home given the chance!

I'm assuming you mean; would I lived back in the US given the chance. Absolutely not.

When I left the States 5 years ago, Family i.e. Mother, brother, son, and ex wife thought I'd be back in 6 months.

It will be 6 years in Feb. and although I'm changing countries it's from Thailand to the PI (namely to Dumaguete) and not back to the USA.

When I explain to them how I live and what it cost me to live here they all agree, "can't do that in the states".

There's not really anything there I want to go back for.

I go back for a trip now and then, usually business, like getting my social security started or my Mothers 80 birthday, I find it to expensive to go back.

The key to living in a foreign country is you have to try and blend in and roll with the punches.

Service related things are not going to be the same, weather it be in a restaurant or having something repaired.

I live a very domesticated life style, I don't drink or smoke and usually in bed by 9:30- 10 o'clock.

I love to travel and Island hoping is fairly cheap and doing my photography, that keeps me from getting bored.

The one thing I've learned is... You have to be happy within yourself...If you can do that then you can live just about anywhere..
