Good guess Thelemaway but just out of curiosity. What do you find revolting about old men. Do you have a problem with old people? You should probably get in touch with the hermit side of your character while you are here. First time I've said this to anyone but I'm really not looking forward to meeting you.
Oh! Oh! I feel a "NON FAN" club starting here! At 62, would I be considered old?:( If so, I think I would join. Maybe thelemaway does not realise, He will get old one day! Jack P. Sorry kenny but I felt it best to say my 5c worth on your piece. Hope you don't mind.
I just turned 51, a lot of my friends are much older than me. All I can say is most older men and women have worked hard for many years and possibly survived many problems in their life. As I see it, they deserve a happy retirement, especially if they can enrich someone else's life. My 5c"s also. Cheers Ron
100% Ron! on this I can agree 100%, Well said and I hope understood by those that can't see any further than their nose! Jack P.
Firm believer in what people do is their business, but what does disturb me is some of these jokers with one foot in the grave already that come over and hook up with a young naive province girl. They set up house, get the girl pregnant, saddled with a kid, house rent and all kinds of debt when they know theres nothing for the girl or the baby when they kick the bucket.
Note to self: Don't offer people an invitation to hate me. That being said; Whats wrong with being older? It wouldn't bother me a bit to hear a woman married for money and stability. It's not like it only happens in SEA either. Robert K
This thread is being hi-jacked and it is nothing to do with me. if you want this discussion, you should star a new thread. you probably shouldn't though, because you and I have both heard / said everything that is going to be said 1000 times already.
And don't worry too much about the non-fan club. I think I can probably find somewhere else to hang my hat. I have no desire to be trapped in care-home / brothel even for a couple of weeks. Thanks all. You have certainly given me all the info I needed.
oops! its sounding like barking on a wrong tree. Hey! life is exciting and full of challenge...we all deserves a respect. Most of the expats in Dumaguete been thru a lot of differences just like anywhere else. Men reached at 50-70 are like Vintage Wine, very interesting to be with and you will learn a lot from them good and bad. Btw, most of the successful expat business owner who comes in Philippines came at the age of 30-40 i knew; a swiss, french, german, australian, brit, irish and austrian. Me, at 37 and my husband 55 took a lot of challenges here in Phils. since 5 yrs. and we are on the way to achieve our goal. As a junior member of this forum, i pay a lot of respect to the senior here. Cheers!
