I don't understand why VACR denied being a DI member but that's his business. I do understand why chrissar was upset, also cactusflower is correct, it is a cultural difference. Tom is also correct that VACR is different and chooses to be so.

It's not unknown that Filipinos will ask questions Americans and Europeans may interpret as being none of their business. Just because the action is different doesn't make it rude or wrong. The completely incorrect response is a dishonest answer, especially if the person asking the question has the opportunity to find out the truth, that is if you care about making them angry. It doesn't matter if it's a small thing or not.
