I grew up and lived in NYC to, and while Casablanca isn't Peter Lugars or Smith and Walenski you don't drop $100 a plate for dinner either. I think Gunther puts out the best steak I've had in the Philippines and at a price I can afford.

Food in Why Not is OK. Pricewise even very good. Service, well every 2 weeks other waitress, what do you expect?
Coco Amigo's has also some good food that compare to Why Not. Service? mostly good but sometimes not so good, maybe the weather.
Roberto's some good and some bad food, beefsteak (several varieties) perhaps best value in town. Service? Philippino style.

i have known marcus for years and can't imagine him allowing this sort of un-professional behavior by one of his managers..arbitrary and capricious decisions of this sort are the type of stuff that gets your pathtetic @ss fired. has anyone contacted marcus and said to him HEY MAN--YOU GOT A SERIOUS PROBLEM IN YOUR WHY-NOT WITH A MANAGER THAT HAS POOP FOR BRAINS--FIX IT OR LOSE IT !!!

I have no problems with Marcus and the way its run, been going there for over
eight years. Its one of the many reasons why I picked Dumagete for my retirement abode.

Friend of Daykota....... sort of.....we know each other...... he is harmless, even a nice guy but he and the truth sometimes need to be re-introduced .....

    You are welcome anytime.....

GUITARJOHNJOHN..... Trust me Marcus does not like people telling him how to run his business.....and certainly does not like to be threatened.... a friend of mine went to him with a serious complaint about the food ....Marcus' response was "Do not eat here"
That female manager has been there 6 years that I know of..... I know stories about her..... I am sure this is not the first time people have made complaints....and she is still there..... my advice.... a waste of time and it could end up with you eating somewhere else

FIREFLY..... never found a place in Negros where the service is "good".....pleasing the customer is most often a foreign concept..... the management hires and fires at the drop of a plate and they rarely train their staff on customer service.....

I went to a local restaurant.... I do not drink alcohol....and was sick of cokes.... so I ordered a glass of sour mix....they refused.....I understand why.....because they did not want me to sneak in my own booze.... not unusual..... so I told the manager to charge me full price for a whiskey sour.....just leave out the whiskey..... they still refused ?????

The obvious answer is they were given the rules but no authority to use common sense

I have an American friend who has been thrown out of half of the restaurants in DC.... he raises hell everytime he gets bad service.... the service has not improved and my friend eats home a lot..... the answer is not to raise hell....but just take your business elsewhere.... eventually they will go out of business.....problem solved

    Why Not Complaints

So many ongoing complaints about Why Not it brings out one of my favorite sayings, "Never try and teach a pig to sing, you waste your time and annoy the pig!". For those that don't get it, I am not calling anyone at Why Not a pig, just an analogy that fits a useless attempt at a resolution. Personally, I never had bad service at either Why Not or Casablanca, only Coco Amigos.

Regarding PI customer service, the funny thing, as all of you know, PI is a hot bed for outsourcing services for world wide companies, including my former company. One of their primary services is as a call center for customer services. Yet, there is such a lack of awareness or a don't give a s__t attitude at many establishments here. The best managed place I have seen here, and all you pizza haters can send me hate mail (hey, they have chef salads too), is Shakey's at the mall.

Many of the local businesses that originated in America..... usually have better customer service than local establishments.....not perfect but better..... I once saw a half naked man in McDonald's.... they were at a loss on how to handle the situation.....on another occasion there was a bagio than waited until the customer stood up.....then sat down to eat the scraps....again they did not know how to handle it because those things are not in the manual.... but generally speaking American franchises have marginally better service....
