Nice story Blackline, although it's not nice to have faced so many problems to get her married and brought to Norway.
Somewhere on this forum I did tell my story a little bit already.
I'm one of those old guys who are living with a young Philippina.
We differ 25 years !
If others find me a dirty old guy ....they are fully right :D :p
It's fantastic to live with a young and pretty woman of only 38,5 years young.
I feel yonger then ever as long as there is no mirror around me.
No, I'm not such a 'typical' Why Not sitting drinking eating big belly old foreigner. Although ???
"Old ?"; Yes. "Foreigner"; Yes. "Why Not"; Why not ? Big Belly ?; Au contraire ! Beer drinking ?; Love it. Bored ?; Au contraire.
After a marriage of 38 years, in which period I found myself a happily married guy for most of the time, I had to change my life because SHE wanted to divorce. BTW: We still have a good contact.
She wanted to stay alone and feels more happy now.
I had a deep depression after she wanted to divorce and needed professional help.
We have 2 grown up (and married) daughters and 3 grandchildren (# 4 is comming very soon).
I decided to leave my country immediately after the house had been sold.
Since I'm a fanatic diver and had visited the Philippines for 7 times, the choise was quickly made.
When I was still married and visited the Philippines for diving, I met once a girl in an open Karaoke bar in Sabang.
I love to sing once in a while so I did there as well. A pretty lady at the other side of the open bar asked me if I could also sing "Smoke get's in your eyes".
There were only 4 people left at the bar and I told her that I would fulfill her request on condition that she did sing together with me.
We had a good time together: I took her for eating, drinking, teached her diving, etc..
When we started our first conversation at that Karaoke bar I told her immediately that I was married and still loved my wife.
She appreciated my openess but did still agree to spend time together as long as I stayed there.
She was in Sabang on her mothers request to assist her sister who went there for her first job in a small bar-restaurant.
We lost contact, but by accident a German dive-couple (who were there as well at that time) emailed me years later (when I just was divorced) that they had spoken to my previous "Sabang-contact".
    They had her phone number.
We made an appointment in 2005 to meet each other again in Sabang where we had so nice memories.
A second trip we made that year to Bohol, Cebu, Negros and Panay to look for a place to live together. Dumaguete was THE place we selected.
Beginning 2006 we spent 2 months in Bacong to search for a lot at the beach and that's where we live now since June 2006.
One of her sons is living with us (11 years old).
I'm well aware that we differ a lot in age. Yes I give her financial security and her sons and parents share in that.
Was that the real motivator for her ? Don't think so because the first time we met each other was for her NOT AT ALL a financial opportunity.
As long as she gives me her love, her care , her charming laughs and her youth (incl. her beautifull appearance) I don't punnish myself with other thoughts.
We're both happy and we want to keep that as long as possible.
I feel still yong ,are healthy and enjoy my life here with my sexy girlfriend.
No, we are not married. Maybe once ?
Luckily also she does not need that "love-proof".
Was physical attraction the mean driver here ? I guess so. At least for me :D
I think she did fall for my tremendous good singing performance

    Hi Tim,

I hope all is good with you and your family. As you and I have both experienced, it is sometimes needed to step in to someones' bullying and we've both been pulled into that terrible experience in the past. However, for me, I personally have no regrets slicing and dicing people who treat many others improperly over a repeated period or has racist type attitudes towards others. So for me, as some of you know, I'll pick away at that type of person until they crawl back under the rock they came from. I've mentioned before, that we only have a very short life to live, but that also means that it should be lived fully and it's also okay for each of us to step in to ensure others are able to enjoy life without black hearted people trying to destroy it. As always, that's my two cents worth.

    Tom

Next, my turn (again, mommyseksi?) :D :D
i don't actually often share our personal love-story...so it's kind of corny really for me to be writing this for all the world to see...so bear w/ me please.

Well, there was nothing romantic when I met my husband...only a matter-of factly-dramas, maybe.
First, a friend introduced us to each other. He is a Japanese but doesn’t look like one. He looks more like a half Italian…tall (to my standard) and lean, w/ a lot of beard and mustache, looks like Blackline over there :D , BUT mine is losing plenty of hair :D …well, looks like Sean Connery, to be précised. (Oooops, get a grip, hold that fingers off the key board! No comment on that pls!! ).So, he’s out from the “fat-long noses” category!
On my part, aside from looks of course, if given a chance, I prefer someone w/ brains; a good conversationalist guys…not because I am but because I’m not!! Because of my thirst for knowledge…I’m always amazed w/ people who cld handle any topic, foreigner or not…they’ll always be awesome for me.
Considering that I’m from a small unknown province of dgte. (that was before – but thanx to DI, it’s now well known) , I have a lot of questions and needed answers. Good books for us were so hard for my family to acquire back then. So, it was always fun for me to associate myself for every little chance w/ occasional foreign visitors…an action that wld undoubtedly raised eyebrows from my titas, titos, neighbors, classmates and …those who likes to wag their tongue…”but who cares?” …was one of my principles!!
Anyway, my husband was neither! So I thought, until I saw his variety collections of books in Japanese, w/c some I also had in my own English collection (again no comment here pls!!) so, we already have something in common. One point in our relationship.
He prefers to listen and only say a few comments every now and then and never boast about his jobs or achievements, w/c I never dare to inquire myself …boring I thought, but he could easily laugh to my silly acts. ..wld give me an ear for my ravings, ‘til I calm down…won’t bother to get into details coz it’s out of my point…so then, we became an item!!
He’s not use to buying me roses or perfume…but he spent his whole time w/ me. No even surprises. And here’s another point, he never show me his money (and never did i care:p ), but generously helped when my father was sick or when someone in my family needed help. Doesn’t say a lot of “I love you”s, but I cld fill the truthfulness in his heart…and these are the few that made me love him a lot!! This, I could shout to the whole world, but never somebody’s misfortune!
Anyway, the next time I knew, I got pregnant w/ our 1st son, w/o even a promised of marriage or money (so another category of “will-marry-for-money,” erased from the list again)! A big worry, if I’ll have my son out of wedlock:eek: …first and foremost, my pop wld sure kill me literally before even I’ll have the chance to see more tongue wagging…but fortunately for me, nope! It did not happen. Coz when my t’wart learned about it, he just handed me a ring, he was keeping for years, w/c he said was bought during a trip from Thailand during his mid-twenties (he still have the certificate of the jewel to prove that ). I was so touched…and bless me, the big bonus was, the ring fitted my finger and the stone was my birthstone!! AND that’s where I believe in “fate”.

We got married and I moved to Japan w/ him as supposed to. Like the most, our plan is to retire in dgte, of course and enjoy life to the fullest. So we decided to invest.
Well, my sweetheart is ten years my senior…and we are blessed w/ 3 kids. For 19 years and exactly a month today, we still enjoy dating alone from the kids and still happy w/ our relationship w/ of course a few bumps in life along the way….but we’re truthfully content, w/ our share of blessings.

Now, I considered my story as good as most of the stories on the board. For these reasons, I sigh when I see someone starts to wagged their tongues…most just can’t stop! Really amazing for me how these people cld just find anything to wag on. Then when confronted, cld always defend themselves as a different case!!

Nevertheless, does it give US the right?

    Sigh!

So I’ll say this again, that if it’s someone’s fate to end up w/ a young & handsome no money or w/ a big brain but sooo ugly guy; or to a fat-rich-old-lolo…my advice? Just give them a nod…we don’t know what’s going on between them or between their sheets (?). It is their own business… as long as they’re not a hassle to other people…let them be. Coz for such so personal-peabrain comments wld just end up insulting a lot of foreign husbands and filipina wives in any which case they’re in…

In my opinion, one can shrug-off wrong grammars, wrong spelling/typos, but not insults!!

Remember: your case, his case, her case, my case…will always be unique from anyone!!

Thank you and good night to all DI members and visitors to this site!!

    p.s. blackline, u've got a happy family

    Hi Tom!
That's ok by me. I agree the whole idea of a forum is to express opinions but I also like the idea of a moderated forum. I was questioning the logic of a "rant" section. There is another Philippines website that opened a "rant" section and closed it after a couple of months. It was quite terrible. I think it's better if DumaInfo skips that experiment. We've both gotten attacked on this forum and I don't blame anyway for firing back.

Daffs? Do not worry we are all open and broad minded but we are doing one thing to Rhoody...Taking the micky out of Him as he deserves!

Be interesting to here Rhoody's story, come on Rhood how about it?

there is one thing in this life, you cannot judge others, you can have a private opinion but keep it that way. Also life Is different, everyone has a different story to tell, life is not black and white. rhoody seems to think everyone is the same, or has the same motives. OH! if only life was that easy!

I have not come across a more friendly and kind people than here in the P.I. Maybe you expect the same kindness and friendship in other countries and sadly that is not always the case. Germany came back from utter devastation after the 2 world war to build a great economy, and it has financed the european union to a larger proportion than any other country, until they know you german people can be a bit unfriendly, but once they know you they are good friends, mind they usually beat us at football grrrrrrr
