then you are wrong. I got mine parking the bike in front of the Kamalig restaurant, near one of these rusty "no parking"-signs which everyone seems to ignore. at least, the penalty was 50 pesos, which is affordable, but I sent my gf to the office, guess they see my white nose I have to pay more. happy I got no penalty for wearing sleeveless shirt and slippers :-) DSCF3991.JPG DSCF3994.JPG

If the LTO was motivated enough they could make a small fortune writing parking tickets (even at just P50 a pop). An LTO officer could probably write a 5-10 tickets each city block....and then once they've walked a couple blocks they could turn around and do it all over again. They'd run out of tickets to issue out before they ran out of people illegally parking.

the ticket has the number 208243, so I was not the first one they catched - I was just a bit surprised cz our table was next to the bike, and I saw nobody write out the ticket, maybe they have camouflage or a magic hat; so you are warned :-) and never ride with slippers or t-shirt in future ...maybe just 3 times and you get deportation custody, who knows ...

A pet peeve is people that angle park in the wrong direction and they usually take up at least 2-3 parking spaces in doing so.
I can only hope they get tickets some day soon.

I'm sure it wasn't the first one they issued but I highly doubt they have issued 208k+ traffic citations. Maybe if they started counting from the first one ever issued in Dumaguete.

Remember way back when checking accounts came with paper things called checks instead of an ATM card? Used to be merchants wouldn't accept a check number lower than 500 or 1000 or whatever. So, when I opened a new account I always ordered replacement checks starting at 1250 to show it was a 'seasoned' account.

I'm sure by now you figured out the moral of the story?

They must have ordered tickets starting at 208240 :roflmao:

I don't think the police have the responsibility (at least not their primary responsibility) of issuing traffic tickets here. That falls on the LTO. I have received a ticket from the LTO for driving a motorcycle with an expired registration. I think I might have received another for not wearing a helmet/pants/shoes but that was so long ago I can't remember if it was a verbal warning or an actual ticket.
